Read and Pray Everyday

I want to focus my post this week on a spiritual message regarding scripture study. In Mosiah 3:19 we learn, "For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit  and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord." My focus this week is to put off the natural man. For the natural man wants me to think that "I'm too busy to read my scriptures" or that "I know enough, what more can I possibly learn".  The natural man wants me to think that I can be happy even if I choose not to read and study my scriptures every day. I KNOW, however, that this is not true. I testify that when I put off the natural man and yield to the enticing of the Holy Spirit through faith, repentance, prayer, and scripture study, I feel the love of Christ burning inside me. THIS is true happiness.

What makes life good?

I often use the phrase "Life is good" but I've never really asked myself, "what makes life good?" With all the wars and fighting, sin and corruption, sickness and sadness that seem to be taking over this world it makes me wonder...is life really good? Why can't people get along these days? Why is there so much sadness? The more I think about the sadder I feel. As much as there is to be sad about though, I know that there is more to be happy about. Family and friends, football, the beautiful fall weather. Homes to live in, food to eat. Country music, the color red, and cotton candy. It's the simple things that make us happy! As much bad as there is in this life, there is even more good. So keep smiling. Keep being happy. Life IS good. :)
